I've been looking at some double-neck guitars and was wondering if anone here has one or has played one and how you liked it. It seems like it would be cool to be ale to switch between a twelve and six string without changing guitars. I also wont a guitar thats very eye catching. I've mostly been looking at the epiphone and agile 12/6's the gibson is alittle out of my budget.
I had a 1275 years ago, yes they are and look cool, but:
It's not a guitar you would want to play all night, VERY HEAVY;very much a beast to handle.-
It seems it takes a long time to tune all 18 strings, and you are worn out by the time you finish!-
Restringing all 18 is a *****!-almost as bad as restringing a Rickenbacker 12-
Neither of the necks seem to be in your ideal position to play-
About the only time you can really use it is playing Stairway to Heaven.
Just my opinion!
no but if i don't cut back on burger king i may be playing with a double chin

I had one and marvar is right...neither is in the ideal playing position, and the 1275's have maple necks making it neck heavy.
Nothing like playing a heavy guitar, trying to balance it.
