Not-so-cheap axe with a floating trem

I've decided against getting a really cheap axe, and I'm looking for something along the lines of the ESP Ltd MH-400... from : localhost/played that in the shop and I absolutely love it - theres just something about the feel of ESP's that I really like.

I'm not about to rush into it though, so could you list a few axes that are around the same price?

Thanks.

heres a few that i like they may not be your style though
1. jackson rr3
2. ibanez s series
3. jackson dinky
i also really liked the dean 79 mlf i played.

I don't like the RR's so much, but some of those Dinky's are nice!

Jackson DKMG Quality wise, you're getting at least similar to the MH, and it's cheaper so you can always change the pickups anyway. Sure it's bolt on but ah well, it's Jackson The neck will be thinner and the trem most likely be of better quality too.

Thanks, I will try and get hold of a DKMG to try it out

Also try the DK2, the DXMG and the DX10D if you wish.
DK2 has HSS duncan design pickup configuration
DXMG has two EMG HZ3, just like the DKMG, but has a flat top instead of an archtop
DX10D is like the DK2 but without the binding, and it has twin humbuckers (duncan designed too)

The Ibanez Rg series isnt half bad either....if you can find one of the Prestige, I believe that you wouldn't be dissatisfied imo...but then again I could be wrong!

Check these out:rgt220a
rgt220h
rgt320q

That last one has me drooling!! I'll look out for those too.

What's the US list price for that last one?

If you like the style (Peavey Wolfgang) alright, Ed Roman sells modded OLP guitars with duncan pups, an OFR and a fret dressing for $650. The stock guitars are pretty nice for such a cheap guitar, and IMO the fret dressing, if done properly, and the OFR would make it worth the $650. He advertises the SD black backs, but I think he'll put whichever you want in it.

What are OLP guitars?

Carvin puts OFR's in their guitars, which are around the price of that ESP depending on what options you choose

I actually should have said Music Man Axis, not Wolfgang. It's a MM1, if I remember correctly. OLP stands for Officially Licensed Product, and it really is a licensed copy of the Ernie Ball. I believe B.C. Rich is making them.

Here's the link to his mod. He sells factory ones, too, but they have fender style trems.

Ok, what amp should i get??? ooooooooooooooo got ya on that one!!!
^ ^ ^

Ed Roman?!?! lots of ed roman horror(sp?) stories around here, so if I were you, I'd try to stay away from him.

Schecter C-1 FR seems like a fine axe, I'll definately look out for one of those.

I've looked into Carvin before, but I can't get much of a deal on one of those in Australia.

Are the Carvins and Schecters recessed?

If youd like to wait for the Ibanez rgt320q....I would, just save up some cash then buy that beautiful guitar!!!!
