What do you think is a fair price for a used (assume good condition) Roland Jazz Chorus 120?
I ask because a buddy saw one at a pawn shop, and I thought it would be a good option for amplifying my PODxt since they are so squeaky clean.
Also, if anyone owns one (or a similar model), please chime in and let me know what it's like. I love the model on my POD ... Oh, and yes, I am aware of the irony of modelling a JC 120, and amplifying it with a JC 120
Thanks!
However much it costs to get the back repair surgery needed after hauling one of those around.
They're that heavy? Hmm ... I may want to rethink this ...
Anyone have a non-smartass answer
Heh not really...they are terrible...I never liked that cold spiky sound it has.

See, that doesn't bother me at all, because I want an amp that won't colour the sound of the POD, and for that purpose warmth is bad! Besides, I have never found them to be that spiky. I have played through the real thing in the past as well as the model, and overall I think they are very good at what they do.

Sorry for the smartass answer! But that would be pretty close to my *real* answer.
I'd rather haul an Ampeg 8x10 cab than one of those JC120s.
Well they are cold and they do colour the sound...not in any pleasent way!
They sound like plastic, has always done so.
Why not get a poweramp and a speakercab??
That way it will only be amplified and not coloured by the JC...
be careful. I've been playing through an old (20 years) JC 120 for a while. It wasn't properly grounded, so I got electrocuted many many times. Check that there's a third lug in the plug.

Perfect recommendation. I played a PODxt through one of those Crate Powerblocks and a custom 2X12. It sounded really sweet. It's the perfect lightweight rig. And that Crate Powerblock or whatever it's called is freakin' loud.

My only complaint about the Powerblock is that I'd have to buy a cab as well, thus blowing my budget.
Based on recommendations, I guess I'll skip the JC and try that powered speaker cab thing Tech21 makes. Either that or the keyboard amp.
I dunno about the combo, but I bought my jc120 head for $250

How about that Atomic amp that's designed for the POD?
Well, here's a vote FOR the JC120. Lovely and clean all the way up the volume journey. I'd say it's pretty neutral. I play on a similar GA120. Great as an amp. No colour. How much? hmmmmm. How old? Condition? Speakers?
