Clipping questions on JC-120...

Playing my JC-120 right before my first gig with Digital Black we noticed that once the amp volume is up past quot;2quot; the starts to get muddier, rather than louder. The sound no longer sounds clean. I was wondering if this was a speaker distortion problem or a ss power amp distortion problem.

Speakers are stock, two 60w Roland speakers.

At the show, fortunately, I'd had access to two JC s. So I had plenty of volume but one might not have cut it. And I can't afford to keep both, I was planning to sell one anyway. (at least one I guess I should now say).'

I love the tone of those amps though...just not past quot;2quot;. But I need a diagnosis of the problem, and some solutions. Please and thank you, nothin' but love for ya baby.
