Heavy Clip

I bought a Boss DR-880 this weekend and am still trying to figure it out. It is pretty cool. I was messing around and found these cool drum patterns. I figured I'd roll tape and see how they sounded with a little heavy guitar. The drums and bass are the DR-880. I already had my Pitbull mic'd up so I let her rip. I recorded this at very moderate levels.. the 100CL was only at 2 or something. It was barely breathing which takes a little away from its recorded tone. I usually record with the volume at about 5 1/2. This is only 40 seconds long and isn't a structured song or anything, just a couple chords to play over the drums. The pick-up was a Custom Custom.

from : localhost/can do a lot with the DR-880. It is also a direct recording device that can be used like a POD XT. Is has models of the SLO100, 5150, Plexi, Mesa Dual Rectifier, etc... The models sound pretty good. I'll have to post something using them. This is an expensive unit (about $500) but can do a lot of things. Listen to the great stuff Marinblues is doing!!

sounds good I would like to hear that amp at full bore...mama mia....nice tone and playing

Thanks man. I put an improvised lead over that backing using the DR-880 as a direct recording device. I'll try to post it later. You can get pretty decent tones using the 880.

I cant get the link to work!!

It just worked for me. Try this bro Right Click, Save Target As HERE

Thanks, now it works

Cool tone, but it suffers from the quot;idling poweramp syndromequot; ..... next clip youre cranking the amp

Cheers!

Erlend- just to give you some idea, if you cranked my Pitbull up to 2.5 in your bedroom, your mom would burst through your door, smash your dome in with a baseball bat and leave you lying lifeless on the floor.

If you cranked it to 5 you'd have the neighborhood banging at your door in about 30 seconds...

BUT- I'll crank her up more next time.

Sounded killer man!! Nice tone. I'd like to hear the amp cranked too. Man, that kick sounds really good. So how exactly do you get the drum machine to play the bass?

It is pretty similar to writing a custom pattern for the drum part. On the 880 every preset drum pattern also comes with a preset bass line. So I can dial up a Fretless Fusion pattern and hear drums and bass together. You can play the bass in real time using the pads like you would drums, tweak the preset (change tempo keys, etc...) or write a custom bass line note by note. It is probably easier just to grab a bass and play it but for practicing this thing is pretty cool. It also has direct recording presets for bass and guitar. I'll post something using those later.... they sound pretty good.

Cool man, thanks. I figured it was something like the realtime and all. I never figured out how to program my 770, so trying to program bass would really blow me away.
