Putting together versitile pickup system

Oh so heres the Deal,
I have a Gibson SG-Z currently has stock 500T bridge position and a stacked 490R in the neck position.
The 500T is great for metal and I guess its Ok clean if I pad it. The stacked 490R has a prety decent sound almost strat like. But the two pickups are way unbalanced. The 500T seems to overemphasize my pick noise too.

I was thinking of finding some good broad range pickups and incorporating an active lowpass filter setup I had some people help me figure out. Found here

from : localhost/goal is to have a pickup system that can be used for fusion, jazz, funk, blues, and thrash/death metal, punk etc.

It would seem to me that the Live wire classic humbucker for the bridge and the Live wire hot in neck position may fit the bill nicely.
In conjuction with an active variable filter, with variable Q. I could probably tailor my tone to suit any situation.
I am however ignorant to and cant seem to find any info on the Seymourduncan active circuitry and what its features are.
Also I noticed the Live wire classic humbucker has a higher resonance/cutoff for the neck model. Does the live wire classic humbucker use pole pieces that are placement critical or is it a bar/rail type pickup? I cant tell due to the plastic cover. Why does the bridge pickup have a lower resonance/cutoff?

Scince the system is active I imagine that I can balance the pickup gains to have equal output levels. Anyone here have any feelings on my setup idea?

A lot of the metal pickups are nice and High output but they really suck for highfrequency response when playing clean. I would like to be able to switch tonalitys quickly without having to switch guitars.

Oh yah anyone know of any specs for the 500T or stacked 490R as far as resonace/cutoff.
