Custom Tapped Tele in Esquire=Tone Nirvana

During the User Group outing at the plant I had a chance to ask Seymour what I should put in my Classic 50's Esquire. Of course he recommended the pickup that goes in his Signature Esquire, and a week later I ordered one from MJ. She told me then that she had just finished the same pickup for James Taylor (Huh?)

Anyway I just got the guitar back from having it installed and...I don't have to tell you people what happened. My hands started going all over the place, playing riffs I've never heard before...completely tone drunk. The bridge position is hot pure tele twang with a richness I've never heard before. The middle tapped position cools it down a little and rolls off just a little bit of the high end. The forward position is pure jazz. Plush! Seymour said it would sound like three different pickups and it does, each one perfectly sweet.

I have a '52 RI that I think is really nice, but I think I may have to drop one of these in there with a 5-way. Nice work MJ!
I have a tepped lead coil in my Telecaster, and I love it...it's a little different that the one that Seymour uses, but still...I love it!

Cool!

Sounds cool. What wiring scheme are you using?

i wound a similar pup at user group day. havent tried it yet but im glad you like it, cant wait to try mine!!

This is the bridge pickup that was used in the User's Group Guitar and I believe it's wired in a similar way. When I went over to get the pu Seymour was in the lobby and took me off into a side room to demo the pickup in that guitar. He went through five different settings which all sounded awesome. He really knows how to work a Tele.I'm wondering which neck pu he has in that thing.
